Profile of Role

Being a software engineer at Infinity means more than just writing code. You will have the chance to be involved in architecture definition, design, automated testing and business demos. Together with the product team, you will be closely involved in scoping the features and building functionality that will delight the user.

Working as part of a tightly knit agile team, you will strive to become a full stack developer. You will be experienced working with PHP or Go. As a software engineer, you are also expected to take ownership of features, adapt to new technologies, and better ways of working.  

About You 

  • You enjoy working in an agile environment, and taking part in backlog refinements, sprint planning, daily stand-ups and end of sprint demos.

  • You like to get work done and see it being used by customers.

  • You are a tenacious team player and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

  • You are resourceful and proactive, able to produce quality software under time critical conditions.

  • You enjoy reviewing code and providing constructive feedback to team members.

  • You have a focus on quality and delighting the end customer. 

  • You are striving to become a full stack engineer.

  • You like to be involved in various aspects of software development.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum and Devops

  • Experienced with TDD

  • Experienced in OOP (ideally 2+ years)

  • Hands on developing experience in PHP/Go (ideally 3+ years)

  • Hands on experience with PaaS (preferred AWS)

  • Experience with terraform, docker and/or elastic search beneficial

  • Hands on development experience with Vue.js, CSS and HTML is a plus

  • Willingness to accept changes to priorities

  • Critical thinking

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Strong problem solver

  • Document application process for future maintenance and upgrade


Key Responsibilities

  • Writing and maintaining software

  • Ensure code is sufficiently documented and tested, taking pride in your work and catching bugs early on.

  • Create and/or extend our already existing AWS based services

  • Maintain our APIs for reporting, data transfer and platform configuration;

  • Maintain our interfaces for reporting, real-time dashboards and call handling.

  • Maintain your own development environments and take responsibility when publishing code to staging or production servers.

  • Support testing of features ready for production

  • Help execute exploratory and performance tests 

 

Salary

£40,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
